PLUME RESTAURANT
Matakana
Contemporary commercial renovation and fit out
Commercial hospitality space
Originally built as Herons Flight in 2006, this Matakana project is a contemporary commercial renovation and fit out that reimagines the space as Plume Restaurant. Delivered by Brackenridge Builders, the transformation introduces a refined hospitality environment that supports both dining and cellar door experiences.
Working alongside Designpoint Architecture, the exterior was enhanced with hardwood pergolas that define the entrance and create covered outdoor dining areas suitable for year-round use. Inside, the entry and bar were reconfigured to improve flow and function, with the addition of a cellar door and a curved cedar suspended ceiling that adds warmth and character to the space.
The project also included significant back-of-house upgrades, with an extended kitchen and new administration and amenities areas to support daily operations. Careful coordination was required to deliver both the front-of-house experience and the functional requirements of a working restaurant.
This project reflects Brackenridge Builders’ experience delivering high-quality commercial projects in Matakana and across the wider region.
