Contemporary coastal beach house
Residential build
Designed as a continuation of the neighbouring Harris No.1, this residential home in Omaha is a contemporary coastal beach house that mirrors and complements the original build. Constructed by Brackenridge Builders, the home carries through a consistent architectural language while adapting to suit additional living needs.
Working alongside Jasmax, the design includes generous multi-use living areas, a dedicated bunk room and a detached sleepout, allowing the home to comfortably accommodate extended family and guests. Internally, exposed polished concrete floors and maple plywood linings create a warm and grounded atmosphere, balancing durability with a relaxed, architectural feel. Externally, stained cedar cladding has been selected to withstand the coastal environment while maintaining a natural connection to its surroundings.
The project required careful coordination to align with the existing home while delivering a cohesive yet independent space. The result is a well-executed addition that expands the original concept without compromising on quality or function.
This project reflects Brackenridge Builders’ experience delivering high-quality coastal homes in Omaha and across the wider region.
“I have not had a single concern or query about the workmanship of the Brackenridge team. They have worked with and controlled a great group of subcontractors who have been most obliging and tolerant of my requests and changes. They have addressed any issues quickly and in good spirit and have been pro-active in their suggestions.” - Richard Harris
