Contemporary coastal pavilion-style architectural home
Residential build
This bespoke residential home in Omaha is a contemporary coastal pavilion-style architectural build designed to respond to both beachfront and sheltered living. Built by Brackenridge Builders, the home is arranged as a series of connected pavilions that allow it to operate at different scales depending on how it is used.
Working alongside Crosson Architects, the design is organised around enclosed spaces, outdoor rooms and transitional areas linked by a covered boardwalk. A slatted timber roof with glazing above creates a filtered light that runs through the length of the home, reinforcing a strong connection to the outdoors. The beachfront forms are long and low, sitting quietly within the landscape, while the street elevation rises to capture views and create a more enclosed courtyard setting.
The home has been carefully planned to function as two independent zones, allowing a smaller footprint for everyday living while accommodating extended family when required. A restrained material palette of timber, concrete and pre-weathered zinc provides durability in the coastal environment, with precast concrete panels anchoring the structure and adding a sense of permanence.
This project reflects Brackenridge Builders’ experience delivering high-end residential homes in Omaha and across the wider coastal region.
